MAIL A CD

This show is accepting digital submissions only. For this show, NO SLIDES will be accepted, or returned. With a digital camera, photograph your painting just as you would do for slides. Save the images with names that include your name:

Please use jpeg file format only. Provide an image that is a maximum of 1200 pixels on its longest side. Most digital cameras, set to high resolution, will provide a good image. Image should not be more than 1 megabyte. See more Tips about digital images on the "Resources" page of CWA's website (www.californiawatercolor.org).

Send an email to Magster753@msn.com and include your name, titles of paintings and files, sizes of images and frames, and prices.

A CD will be returned only if you include a self-addressed stamped mailer. Need help? Local camera stores will scan a 35mm slide and burn a CD for $6-7.

ACCEPTANCE:

All artists will receive an email by July 15 regarding acceptance of their paintings.

PAINTINGS:

Friday, August 1, 2008; 10am - noon at Lindsay Dirkx Brown Gallery,San Ramon Community Center. Bring paintings to the Gallery on the main floor. Contact Show Chair for info regarding shipped paintings

AWARDS;

1st Place $100, 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50, Ribbons

ENTRIES:

Up to 2 paintings may be submitted. Framed paintings no larger than 40" in any direction and no smaller than 16" x 20". Original, recent watermedia. No copy or class work. Paintings completely framed in metal or wood, wired and ready to hang. No sawtooths, clamps or screweyes. Flat brackets required on wood frames. Plexiglas™ only. NO cardboard or masking tape. No wide (over 3 inches) or rococo frames. Light neutral mats please. CWA reserves the right to not hang any painting.

LABELS:

Print out show labels from CWA website. Fill in and attach to upper left back of accepted painting.

FEES:

$10 per entry, maximum 2 images. Make check payable to "CWA", and send to Maggie Metcalf.

INSURANCE:

Your paintings will be handled with the best of care; however, CWA and/or San Ramon Community Center personnel assume no responsibility for theft, loss or damage of any kind. Insurance is, therefore, the responsibility of the artist.

SALES:

All sales will be made through the artist. There will be no early removals during the show. The artist is responsible for a donation of 25% of the listed price to CWA (15% to Outreach and 10% to the Building Fund ).
