Please use jpeg file format only. Provide a painting image that is not more than 1 megabyte in size.

Send an email to stangeland@earthlink.net and include your name, titles of paintings and files, sizes of images and frames, and prices. Attach digital image files to this email. Email must be received by June 9th 2008.

AWARDS: Festival to select image(s) to use in marketing & promotional materials for the Festival. CWA Awards: First Place $100, Second Place $75, Third place $50 and Honorable Mentions.

THEME: ""The Art of Music" Envision: musicians, street music, nightclubs, instruments, musical notes, conductors, washboards, bandstands, sounds of the night, wind in the trees, bird songs, piped piper, orchestra ...

ENTRIES: Theme: "The Art of Music". Up to three original watermedia paintings on paper may be submitted. No copies or class work. Paintings must be framed in metal or wood, covered in Plexiglasª, wired and ready to hang. No sawtooths, clamps or screw eyes. Flat brackets required on wood frames. No cardboard or masking tape. Metal or Wood frames. No wide or Rococo frames. Neutral or off-white mats only. No nudes or political or religious themes. CWA reserves the right to refuse to hang any painting.

LABELS: Fill in CWA label and attach to the upper left back of work See website for CWA label form (www.californiawatercolor.org)

FEES: $5.00 entry fee each painting image.

INSURANCE: Your paintings will be handled with the best of care; however, CWA assumes no responsibility for theft, loss or damage of any kind during transport or exhibition. Insurance is the sole responsibility of the artist.

SALES: All sales will be made through the artist. All paintings must hang for the duration of the show. The artist is responsible for a 25% commission; 15% for the Outreach Fund and 10% for the CWA Building Fund.

VENUES: Merchant venues TBD. Berkeley Public Library Showcase August 19th through August 31st.

HANGING: Assemble at Downtown Berkeley Assoc. office: 2230 Shattuck Ave (basement), Berkeley, CA Saturday August 9th 11am-1pm.
